Our country is in a financial and political crisis. One reason is the lack of character and integrity in men. Leaders in business, government, and other institutions lack integrity. Their actions do not represent their words. Fathers lack character, and their children learn there is no right or wrong. In many homes, the father is absent. Each generation falls further away from God because we want it our way.

The Book of Proverbs identifies a way of living to please God. The word proverb comes from a Hebrew word that means “to rule or govern”.¹ God wants us to be governed by these rules because they will protect us from hurting ourselves. He wants the very best for us. The question for us is whether we will accept this guidance from our heavenly Father.
The motto of Proverbs Men is “Seeking Wisdom, Trusting God”. There are many verses in Proverbs that encourage us to Seek Wisdom as if it is a “hidden treasure” (Proverbs 2:4) “for wisdom is more precious than rubies and nothing you desire can compare to her.” (Proverbs 8:11) Like any hidden treasure, we must look for it. So Proverbs Men encourages men to read a Proverb each day. On the first day of the month, you read Proverbs 1; on the second day of the month, you read Proverbs 2. At the end of the month, you start Proverbs again. Each month, you are digging deeper for the “hidden treasure”. As you seek Wisdom, you will learn to Trust God. Proverbs 3:5-6 states “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
The picture “Prayer at Valley Forge” has been used as our logo. This picture depicts General George Washington on his knee bowing before God in prayer. The Father of our Country is in prayer with God, our heavenly Father. General Washington knew that he was dependent on God. This represents the humility of a true Proverbs Man.
The Goal of Proverbs Men is
“Building Godly Men, Men of Character, Men of Integrity, One Day at a Time.”
May God bless you as you become a Proverbs Man!
